Individualized care is the cornerstone of any thriving dental office. It can be particularly impressive when a dentist manages to combine personalized care with valuable comprehensive care for the entire family. The Chisholm Trail Smile Center is a wonderful family dentist office that strikes this balance perfectly.

As one of the oldest dental practices in all of Duncan, Oklahoma, this family dentist is focused on both family care and making sure each patient gets attention as a unique individual with unique needs. Dr. Matthew Bridges will keep you and your family safe and comfortable through your dental journey.

Focused on Family

When a parent considers what dentist to use, safety is perhaps the number one priority. This is also a top priority for Dr. Bridges and the dental team that assists him.

This dentist spares no expense on its state-of-the-art equipment to ensure absolute safety. Their impressive radiograph cuts down on radiation substantially, as traditional x-rays used at other offices can emit nearly nine times as much radiation

Their techniques for safety ensure that clients never leave the dental office in a worrisome state. After using nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for client comfort during procedures, Dr. Bridges uses 100% pure oxygen for 10 minutes to get rid of the effects of the gas. Clients can quite literally drive themselves home afterward, proving that the dental equipment never leads to any mishap.

All of the team members are directly trained to understand and use the latest technologies. This way, the office is equipped with new technology that everyone can expertly handle and apply, minimizing any risks.

As a children’s dentist office, the team also works hard to create an inviting atmosphere. Dr. Bridges understands the fact that going to the dentist can be a fearful thing, for adults and children alike. This family dentist team is trained to be extraordinarily sympathetic to this and use treatments that clients are most comfortable with.

While caring for families, this dentist also wants each client to feel like they are essentially part of a family at the dental office.

Individual Attention

Dr. Bridges believes in working closely with clients to meet the specific goals of each individual.

In doing so, this dental practice offers services in the followings areas:

  • Preventative: This can include a thorough examination to look for orthodontic issues and abnormalities. They offer routine cleanings as well.
  • Restorative: Dr. Bridges works hard to fix dental damage with an emphasis on still maintaining a natural look in the process.
  • Cosmetic: They use state-of-the-art contouring techniques and whitening treatments to create beautiful smiles.

Whether acting as a children’s dentist or applying the knowledge to one particular adult, this team has the knowledge and equipment that you need.

Book an Appointment Today

Take a drive to 2035 West Elk Avenue to talk to some of the staff and Dr. Bridges himself. You can secure an appointment by also calling at 580.255.4880 and a staff member will happily guide you through your options.

You can also find more detailed info on their services here on their website. This family dentist makes a difference by balancing individual and family care. They manage to take on both by having incredibly impressive dental equipment and a staff that knows how to use it.

Dr. Matthew L. Bridges and our staff at Chisolm Trail Smile Center see patients who have dental insurance, because we believe oral health care should be affordable and attainable for Oklahoma patients like you! Today, we’re discussing the benefits of using dental insurance dentists in the Duncan, OK, area, and how it can save you money.

For information on your specific dental insurance plan, always contact your insurance provider. However, for details on our insurance policies, or to schedule a consultation with Dr. Bridges, give us a call at 580.255.4880.

The Benefits of a Dentist Who Accepts Insurance

If you already have dental insurance coverage, finding a dental provider who is in your insurance network can dramatically lower costs of preventive or restorative treatments. Many dentists who work within your insurance plan’s network have agreed on set prices for basic treatments like fillings, teeth cleanings and examinations, and dental crowns. For the most part, preventive care, like cleanings and exams, x-rays, and oral cancer screenings, are covered in full by insurance for bi-annual exams. That means that if your mouth is healthy and doesn’t require additional treatments, you have zero financial responsibilities at the practice during your routine exam! If you do require additional treatments, like a small filling or a crown for a cracked tooth, the procedures have a set cost so you know what your expected treatment costs will be. Depending on your coverage policy, your insurance plan covers some percentage of total treatment costs, and you must contribute any residual costs of service (this is referred to as a co-pay).

Research Your Plan and Network

When looking for a dentist who accepts insurance, you will first need to find out what type of plan you’re signed up for. The two most frequently used plans include PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), or a DMO/DHMO (Dental Health Maintenance Organization). When discovering the type of plan, you can also search for providers in “your network” on your insurance company’s website. This is a group of dentists who have agreed to partner with your insurance company to provide services at a set cost.

Some plans, usually PPO plans, will offer some cost savings for dental providers who are technically out of network. Often, DMO or DHMO plans are not as likely to contribute to out-of-network expenses. Most PPO plans have a large selection of dentists to select from, while DMOs/DHMOs have a reduced network. Don’t forget to always contact your insurance company if you are confused about your network providers, or the cost coverage policies. They are well-versed in their policies and can quickly answer questions you may have!

Schedule Consultations

A dentist may be in network, but it doesn’t mean that he or she be the best provider for you. Always schedule a consultation with potential dental providers to meet them and their staff before you require treatment. A quick trip to their office, chatting with their front desk staff, and discussing dental care with the dentist can help you determine if you are comfortable in the practice. This step is most important for those patients with dental fear and anxiety who may desire a very peaceful, friendly, and patient-centric atmosphere.

Have Dental Insurance? We Can Help You Make the Most of It!

At our practice, we are in-network with Health Choice and Delta Premier, and help file paperwork for any Out-of-Network patients to help maximize their benefits. If you would like to learn more about how we can serve you as a dental provider, contact a Chisolm Trail Smile Center team member today!

Offering dental care for children has its own unique hurdles and rewards. For years, Dr. Matthew L. Bridges has had a heart for being a children’s dentist in Duncan, OK, and helping so many of our patients’ children develop good oral hygiene habits, and an understanding of the importance of routine dental care.

If you are in the area, and are looking for a new dental provider your whole family can see, consider Dr. Bridges! As a father of four himself, Dr. Bridges understands the concerns and goals you may have for your child’s oral health. Trust their smile (and yours!) to Dr. Bridges at Chisolm Trail Smile Center – one of the oldest dental practices in the area. Reach a member of our team at (580) 255-4880.

Good habits should start early.

Dr. Bridges has seen how early dental experiences can shape a child’s perception of dentists, dental services, as well as at-home oral care. The earlier a child can start seeing a dentist who they like and feel comfortable with, the less chance they may have of developing dental phobias and anxieties that could keep them away from critical care later down the road. Dr. Bridges loves being able to help children as young as one become more comfortable in the dental chair, by offering gentle care and providing a warm, welcoming, and kid-friendly atmosphere.

Oral health is crucial during early childhood years.

Did you know that the American Dental Association recommends that children start regularly seeing a dentist at the age of one (or at least six months after the first primary tooth appears)? Since primary teeth eventually give way for permanent teeth, some people don’t think regular dental care is necessary. However, children learn how to speak and chew with primary teeth, so it’s important that they are kept healthy and strong until permanent teeth push through. Also, healthy teeth and gums make the transition to permanent teeth smoother, and can set your child up for a lifetime of better oral health.

In addition to routine cleaning, examinations, fluoride treatments and cavity detection, Dr. Bridges offers treatments that can help prepare a child’s smile for future orthodontic care. For instance, Dr. Bridges can place orthodontic spacers to keep your child’s smile from shifting after a primary tooth is lost prematurely. Other orthodontic assessments can help you understand early on what treatments your child may require to have a straighter smile.

Family dentistry can help everyone achieve better health.

As a parent, Dr. Bridges knows full well that kids follow their parents’ example in nearly everything –including oral health! By seeing a dentist, like Dr. Bridges, who can care for the whole family, your child can see the importance of oral care, no matter their age. Your regular attendance will help your child view the dentist as a normal and healthy habit, one that they should emulate. In addition, scheduling routine examinations and cleanings for the family is easier when everyone sees the same provider!

Kids are eager to learn and try new things.

Witnessing kids learning—and being excited to learn—is such a treat. Teachers and parents know how excited kids can get when learning new tasks, words, behaviors, and more. Dr. Bridges loves being able to help kids learn more about their teeth and gums: why they’re important, how they function, and how to keep them clean and strong. With a heart for teaching and educating patients, Dr. Bridges especially loves one-on-one chats with his youngest patients, who may be learning for the first time exactly how their teeth work, and why brushing is so important.

Schedule an appointment with Dr. Bridges, Duncan, OK Children’s Dentist.

Your child’s smile is a treasure; help protect and strengthen it through top-quality dental care in the Duncan, OK area. Contact Chisolm Trail Smile Center today to schedule your child’s appointment with Dr. Matthew Bridges.

The holidays are ending soon, and the time for new resolutions is now. According to statistics, most American adults will commit to losing weight, eating healthier, and/or saving more money. Kids need goals, too, and just as we’re more likely to continue our resolutions if we have moral support and reminders, our children will follow suit. As a family dentist in Duncan, Dr. Bridges helps kids from Marlow and across Central Oklahoma develop healthy dental habits. He recommends that you talk with your kiddos about healthy habits and let them make a New Year’s resolution right alongside you.

One of the easiest resolutions for elementary and preschool children is a pledge to brush their teeth morning and night. Not only is this a simple task to achieve, but it will go a long way toward preventing cavities – which are caused by dental caries, the leading disease in children across the globe. The Colgate website states that 2.1 days of school per year are missed, per child, due to dental issues. Don’t let this be your child’s future in 2019!

These three steps can help you teach your little one how to make a goal and achieve it, while boosting healthy habits and big smiles.

Plan for Good Planning

Before you even begin a conversation with your kids, plan! See these printable teeth brushing charts on Pinterest and have the link ready for reference when you get to step #3 on this list. Purchase some small stickers or a set of markers for your children to use on the charts.

Also, make your resolutions first. They’ll be a point of interest when you’re asking your child to make his or her own commitment.

Talk About Resolutions

Ask if your child has heard about New Year’s resolutions and discuss what they are. Talk about the importance of setting, striving for, and achieving goals in life. Be sure to mention, goal setting can come with incentives! Plan a healthy way to celebrate when your child sees his New Year’s resolution through to completion.

Next, share your resolution with your kiddo. (They will hold you accountable!) Offer a few sample resolutions that will easily be achieved for your child, over the course of 30-60 days. Guide the goal setting toward teeth brushing, twice daily. If your mini-me wants to set bigger goals, suggest tackling this smaller one first to learn and gain experience.

Follow Through with Moral Support

As you’ve heard, leading by example is paramount to good teaching. So, when you brush your teeth in the morning and after dinner, do it with the kids. They’ll appreciate the attention and mimic your actions. Try to brush for at least 2 minutes, and rinse thoroughly afterward.

Re-visit those brushing charts with your kids, and let them select their favorites. Print them together and provide either a favorite colored marker or stickers to mark achievements.

Once your children have reached their goal of brushing twice a day for 4 to 8 weeks, celebrate!

If you have children, you probably refer to guidance from children’s dentists and the American Dental Association regarding when and how to start teaching them to brush their teeth. This includes teaching kids to floss once a day and brush the teeth twice a day, using a fluoride toothpaste (as soon as soon as they are old enough to reliably spit, instead of swallow). But what about rinsing the mouth with mouthwash? Many adults consider mouthwash an important part of their daily hygiene routine, even though it is not considered essential for good oral health. Duncan OK children’s dentist Dr. Matthew Bridges does not discourage parents from buying rinses for their children—but there are a few things you should keep in mind!

The Right Age to Introduce a Rinse

Most children are old enough to start using small amounts of fluoride containing toothpastes at about age three or four. We don’t recommend fluoride for children younger than that, because swallowing it can be dangerous to a child’s health. Not only can fluoride be toxic in high doses, but it can also damage the appearance of growing teeth at lower thresholds. If a child is swallowing fluoride, the adult teeth may come in with permanent fluoride stains, a condition called fluorosis.

Many children’s rinses contain fluoride for an extra level of cavity protection, so we don’t recommend introducing them until about age six. Children’s rinses tend to come in a number of mild, kid-friendly flavors; until age six, it may be too likely that a small amount will be swallowed accidentally.

Using Children’s Rinses Correctly

If you choose to let your child use a rinse, pay attention to the ingredients and buy a product made specifically for kids. Adult rinses may contain harsh ingredients that can dry out a child’s mouth or cause sensitivity. Most children do not need to use rinse with alcohol or antimicrobial ingredients, unless your children’s dentist has specifically recommended it. Instead, choose a cavity-fighting rinse that contains fluoride.

A fluoride-containing rinse can help your child make sure he or she has removed all particles of food after brushing. Teach him or her how to swish vigorously to make sure all parts of the mouth get rinsed. A mouthwash can also provide an extra layer of cavity prevention, since liquids may be able to reach spaces between the teeth that are occasionally missed by toothbrush bristles or floss.

Children should refrain from eating or drinking anything for at least 30 minutes after using a rinse. This ensures teeth get the maximum cavity-fighting and tooth-strengthening benefit from fluoride, as it stays in contact with the teeth longer this way. Rinsing the mouth with water afterward can negate the oral health benefit of the rinse, so be sure to choose a mild product that won’t burn your child’s mouth.

Monitor your child regularly, to make sure he or she is not swallowing the product or otherwise using it improperly. For example, accidental swallowing may become more likely if a child is using double the recommended amount of the liquid rinse! Make sure they use the right amount, for the right length of time. Even older children and teenagers benefit from an occasional parental “audit” of their oral hygiene routine, so make sure you observe and guide your child’s use of rinses.

Do You Have Questions About Your Child’s Oral Health?

At Chisholm Trail Smile Center, we want your family to have the best oral health possible. We always make time for parents’ questions, and ensure both children and adults understand how their behaviors and dietary choices affect their teeth and gums. If you have questions about your children’s oral health, schedule an appointment with Duncan, OK children’s dentist Dr. Matthew Bridges and you’ll have ample opportunity to speak with our staff. If you are a human being with teeth, you need to know the full story on flossing. In addition to twice daily brushing and routine six-month visits with your Duncan or Velma dentist, flossing is one of the most important habits that can help you avoid gum disease. It’s estimated that nearly half of all adults over 35 in America have some degree of gum disease. This is an alarming estimate when you consider that gum disease can rob you of your teeth. Flossing can help you hold onto your teeth for life and avoid developing irreversible gum disease.

Do you need a Velma dentist who will give you the straight story on oral health and hygiene? Dr. Matthew Bridges is here for you and your family. Contact our Duncan OK dental office at 580-255-4880 for an appointment.

Common Misperceptions About Flossing

Perhaps the most common mistake people make is assuming that the purpose of flossing is to remove bits of food from between the teeth. If the only time you think of flossing is when you have a shred of steak stuck in your teeth (or eat popcorn), you need to know the truth. The purpose of flossing is to remove plaque and bacteria from (a) between the teeth and (b) between the teeth and the gums.

A common misperception is that flossing every couple of days is good enough. If you wouldn’t skip a day of brushing your teeth, you shouldn’t skip a day of flossing. Failing to floss leaves approximately 36 percent of your tooth surfaces uncleaned. This can let plaque harden into tartar between the teeth, which will give bacteria a food source that encourages them to feast. This makes cavities and enamel demineralization more likely to occur.

Another misperception is that you have to use floss to floss. If loose floss has never been easy for you to manipulate, there are many efficient alternatives. Flossing picks, end-tufted brushes, stiff-ended picks, and oral irrigators (water flossers) are all excellent ways to clean the surfaces between the teeth and at the gum line. If you don’t floss daily because traditional loose floss is not convenient, find an alternative method of flossing and make it a part of your daily routine.

How to Floss Properly

No matter which flossing tool you prefer, there are a few guidelines you should follow when you floss every day.
1. Use new floss every time you floss. Reusing disposable floss or flossers can spread bacteria. If you use a multi-use tool, make sure to clean it regularly.
2. Use about 18 inches if you use loose floss. Wrap it around the middle fingers, and ensure you have enough slack to grip and manipulate it with your index fingers.
3. Rub the floss against the side of each tooth, starting at the gum line and working downward. Repeat 2-3 times for each side of the tooth.
4. Gently move the floss into the C-curve where the tooth meets the gums, to remove plaque and bacteria from the periodontal pockets.
5. Don’t forget to floss the back surfaces of your back teeth. The molars at the back of the mouth are already harder to keep clean, due to their pitted surface and location. Make sure you floss where the molars meet the gums in the back.

If Flossing Makes Your Gums Bleed

A common concern we hear from patients is that flossing makes their gums bleed and causes inflammation. This can certainly make it a challenge to floss every day, but it is a sign you need to be flossing more regularly. If this happens to you, take the two-week challenge. It may make you sore at first, but if you floss every day for 14 days, you should stop bleeding. As your gums get cleaner and have bacteria removed regularly, they will get stronger and healthier. If you still can’t tolerate flossing after two weeks of daily practice, call us for an appointment. You may need periodontal care visits to get your gums healthy again.

Do you want to have the best oral health of your life? Contact Velma dentist Dr. Matthew Bridges at Chisholm Trail Smile Center. We don’t care how long it’s been since you’ve seen a dentist—we just want to help you have healthy teeth and gums. Call us today at 580-255-4880 to make an appointment.

Have your children recently developed cavities and you’re looking for ways to help them improve their oral hygiene? Are you just eager to help your kids stay on the right track with their oral health? There are many ways to help your children improve their oral hygiene routines; these are our favorite tips!

Do you need a children’s dentist, Duncan OK? Call Chisholm Trail Smile Center for an appointment with Dr. Matthew Bridges. Call us at 580-255-4880 for an appointment.

Give Kids the Tools for Success

Kids love to pick out their own stuff. Décor, toys, clothes—most children love to have their own preferences honored. Oral health tools are no different. Letting your child pick out his own toothpaste, toothbrush, flossing tools, rinse, etc., is a great way to make oral health more important in your child’s life. If your child needs a lot of monitoring, go on a special trip to the oral hygiene aisle at the store and let him pick out his own oral hygiene tools. You may be surprised to see what a difference it makes.

Many parents go beyond the basics, and provide their children with a kitchen timer, for example, to help children do a good job. Both kids and adults should brush their teeth for at least two minutes each time, so a timer can help children make sure they are brushing thoroughly, every time.

Encourage Ownership

Kids love to take ownership of their own care. If you’ve ever heard “I want to do it myself,” you know how much it means to be able to do important things independently. You can encourage your little and big children to take their oral health into their own hands by talking about their oral hygiene routine and asking them how they make sure they do a good job.

A lot of times, children (and adults) get so set in their oral hygiene routine that it becomes automatic. You do a better job when you take the time to brush each tooth individually and intentionally mix up that routine. Talking about this is a great way to help them value their oral hygiene and take things into their own hands.

Share and Model the Experience

Parents often do a good job of showing their children how to brush their teeth when they are toddlers—but we often trust them to do it themselves as they get older. If it’s been a few years since you’ve co-brushed with your child, take the time to brush together every once in a while. Watching each other in the mirror, play “follow the leader” so your child has to copy your movements as you brush and floss your teeth.

Conduct a Random Weekly Audit

It can be hard to monitor your children’s oral hygiene routine in a busy household. If you can’t be there to watch your child brush his/her teeth every day, make a point to conduct an “audit” at least once a week. It’s easy: when you tuck your child in or kiss him goodnight, scratch your fingernail against a tooth, starting at the gum line and moving vertically as you scratch. If you wind up with a big glob of white goo (plaque) on your fingernail, that’s not a good sign. Tell you child that if you find plaque, they have to brush their teeth again. Most kids don’t want to get out of bed to brush their teeth again, so they will be more motivated to do a thorough job every night.

Bring Your Child to Six-Month Visits and Incentivize Good Results

It takes a lot of weight off of a parent’s shoulders when you let your dentist and hygienist do their jobs. When you bring your child in for regular oral health check-ups, you reduce the likelihood of your child getting cavities. You also make it possible to catch bad habits before they cause problems. At each visit we clean the teeth of calcified plaque, and can let you and your child know if there’s one part of the mouth they have been neglecting, for example.

Many parents incentivize good results at the dentist. Taking your child for a special treat, ice cream for example, can help him or her feel proud of their good oral hygiene. Just be sure to brush your teeth afterwards!

All parents want to protect their children’s teeth. We teach our kids how to brush and floss their teeth the right way and bring them to the dentist twice a year for a cleaning. Despite our efforts, kids may still develop oral health problems. Cavities, gingivitis, damaged teeth—there are many things that can go wrong with children’s teeth. Many parents come to Chisholm Trail Smile Center with the same questions, so we wanted to share some frequently asked questions with you.

When it comes to keeping kids’ teeth healthy, knowledge is power! To learn more, visit Duncan and Velma dentist Dr. Matthew Bridges. Contact Chisholm Trail Smile Center for an appointment.

Q: How is children’s dentistry different from adult dentistry?

In a lot of ways, preventive dentistry is the same for both adults and children. Getting a dental cleaning every six months can help prevent the accumulation of tartar and the start of cavities. Preventive treatments, such as fluoride and sealants, work equally well at protecting both baby and adult teeth. When it comes to tooth decay, however, things change. Baby teeth have thinner enamel and are smaller than adult teeth. This means that decay can worsen and spread comparatively faster than in adult teeth. Baby teeth require different materials to restore them, as well.

Adult teeth are pretty straightforward. We want them to last your whole life, so when they are damaged we repair them. They also tend to stay in the same positions over time. Children’s teeth are a more of a mixed bag. Depending on how old your child is, damaged teeth may need to be repaired, replaced or left alone. A chipped tooth may not need any restoration if it is still functioning properly and not irritating the soft tissues of the mouth. Children’s mouths and bones are always growing and changing, as well, so treating their teeth is also a matter of predicting the future and understanding what nature may correct on its own.

Q: My son’s baby tooth got knocked out—do we need to replace it?

Children lose their baby teeth in a predictable order and on a predictable schedule. If I child loses a tooth before it became loose on its own, you should always make an appointment with your dentist. Baby teeth are important. If you’ve ever been tempted to think “they’re all going to fall out anyway…they don’t need attention,” think again! Not only do children need all their baby teeth for proper chewing function, they also need them as placeholders for the adult teeth growing in their jaw. If a tooth is required for proper speech, losing it early may cause communication problems for your child. It may be that the tooth does not need to be replaced with a bridge or other prosthetic, but only your dentist should make that determination.

Q: Why are my kids getting cavities? They brush and floss their teeth every day!

Brushing the teeth twice a day (and flossing once a day) is the cornerstone of good home-based oral hygiene, but it may not be enough for all kids. Many parents don’t realize the role that diet plays in preventing tooth decay. We all know that candy and sodas contribute to cavities, but any sugary or starchy foods can be just as harmful if allowed to sit on the teeth for hours at a time. Sports drinks, fruit juice, potato chips, corn chips, chewy fruit snacks, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches: these can all be as harmful to the teeth as candy when their residue is not removed from the teeth promptly.

This does not mean your children need to brush their teeth every time they eat, however. Drinking water, chewing sugarless gum, or eating crunchy fruits and vegetables can all “clean” the teeth and prevent mouth bacteria from feasting on food particles and plaque. Many parents can successfully prevent cavities with a few tweaks to their kids’ diet and eating habits.

It’s important to note that medical conditions can also contribute to oral health problems, including decay. Always discuss any medical concerns with Dr. Bridges and your hygienist, so we can help you pre-empt any ill effects to the teeth and gums.

Q: Should I buy my child an electric toothbrush?

Electric toothbrushes are not necessary for effective tooth-brushing. However, studies have shown that patients tend to brush longer when using an electric toothbrush, so that could be a good thing. If your child doesn’t brush for a full two minutes each time, a toothbrush with an automatic timing mechanism might help him/her brush more thoroughly.

Good tooth brushing is more about technique. You can do an excellent job or a poor job, depending on how you use your cleaning tools. To learn more about the right way to brush your teeth (with any kind of toothbrush), talk to your dentist or hygienist at Chisholm Trail Smile Center. Regardless of which type of brush you choose, be sure to change it out every two or three months so the bristles remain effective cleaning tools.

It’s estimated that one in three Americans is not getting the dental care they need. Some people have legitimate dental phobias, but for others it’s more a “phobia” of losing a whole paycheck in one appointment. Medical and dental treatments can be expensive, but everyone deserves high quality dental care. What can you do if you have no dental coverage? Find a provider with compassion for your situation, who is willing to take extra steps to make payments easier on your monthly budget.

At Chisholm Trail Smile Center, we understand that dentistry costs are not always easy for hard-working families to cover up-front. If you think not having dental insurance (Duncan, OK) means you can’t visit the dentist, let us show you a workable solution.

Visit our office for a check-up and we’ll explain our new patient specials and financing options. Call (580) 606-6932 or contact us online to make an appointment.

The Care You Need, With or Without Dental Insurance (Duncan, OK)

If you have dental insurance, we will work with your insurer to find out the estimated costs of necessary treatments before we present you with a treatment plan. We are currently in-network with Health Choice and Delta Premier. That doesn’t mean we do not accept other insurance; it just means there is a greater chance you may need to pay some of the treatment costs out-of-pocket.

Whether you have insurance or not, we can provide you with an in-house payment plan that allows you to spread the fees out over several payments. We also offer specials for new patients and new families. We have many patients who take advantage of our financing plans, so don’t be shy in asking for details!

Routine Visits Save You Money

Unfortunately, a common symptom of not having dental insurance is missing out on routine preventive appointments. If you and your family are not getting regular teeth cleanings and exams every six months, however, you are actually more likely to need expensive restorative treatments. Why is this?

Routine visits let us catch cavities and damaged enamel in the early stages–when they are more easily treatable. If a cavity sits neglected for a year or longer, however, you may find yourself needing a root canal or dental bridge to replace the tooth. If you wait until you are in pain to go see a dentist, you are missing out on the best part of dentistry: prevention.

Preventive visits also give us the chance to give your teeth a thorough professional teeth cleaning. This cleaning goes beyond what you can accomplish at home with your usual toothbrushing and flossing, and removes the calcified plaque (tartar) that leads to cavities. Dental cleanings and fluoride treatments ensure your teeth do not develop serious problems down the road. If you maintain a schedule of six-month check-up visits, you are far less likely to have a painful toothache emergency (or lose a tooth) in the future.

We monitor gum health during routine visits, as well, which is crucial to keeping your teeth for life. We also check for signs of oral cancer and other oral health issues.

At Chisholm Trail Smile Center, You Can Afford Dentistry!

If you’ve ever felt that dental care is a luxury you can’t afford, give us a call and make an appointment. We will do everything we can to make your treatments affordable. No one should have to put their oral health on the back-burner, with or without dental insurance (Duncan, OK). Call us at (580) 606-6932 or contact us online to schedule a visit and learn about our financing options.
